The INMO is calling for government to consider the impact on healthcare workers in its response to fuel price surges in the coming weeks.

Responding to the launch of the Artificial Intelligence for Care Strategy, the ICTU Group of Healthcare Unions has stated that any integration of Artificial Intelligence into the public health service must be done in consultation with the human backbone of the health service - its workers. 

The INMO Executive Council will provide assistance (to a maximum of €2,000) subject to criteria laid down by the Executive Council for two INMO members who may wish to travel to the 14th International Council of Nurses (ICN) Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Nurse Network Conference.

The INMO has stated that 11,595 patients were treated without a hospital bed in February 2026, making it the worst February on record for hospital overcrowding.
