Pressure across the health service continues to grow. Despite government and HSE insistence that the health service is “coping”, the clear message from the frontlines and the INMO is that pressure is excessive, rosters are depleted due to long term absence and inability to secure replacement normally available via an agency- as many agency staff have been recruited to vaccination centres.

Update on some key COVID updates, along with progress in securing the gains from the Building Momentum agreement which you endorsed earlier this year.

We have written to the HSE today calling for an emergency meeting of the ED task force to deal with increased overcrowding in acute hospitals.

We paused these regular update emails over the past weeks, as many members receive INMO correspondence via their HSE emails. We were advised not to send emails into the HSE email system due to the current difficulties following the IT hacking.

Many members have contacted us with queries on the ongoing rollout of the vaccinations for COVID. We have met with the HSE several times on this matter (as recently as this morning) and key updates on this and other matters are below.
