Who is this section for?

This section is opened to all nurses who are engaged in orthopaedic nursing and/or any related speciality, as well as members who have an interest in orthopaedics irrespective of their work location. 

Aims and objectives

The orthopaedic nurses section was established to provide a forum for orthopaedic nurses to network, to exchange practice information and to promote education events relevant to this specialist area.   

  • To protect and promote the professional interests of members.
  • To meet twice yearly
  • To network with colleagues locally/nationally/internationally
  • To promote study days/conferences
  • To provide financial assistance to attend conferences/study days
  • To present/discuss pertinent research relevant to orthopaedic nursing  
  • To promote developments in orthopaedic practice nationwide
  • To establish links with other areas of interest e.g. plaster rooms, rheumatology, rehabilitation, Irish Nurse Practice Development Association
