As hostilities in Gaza continue, the neighbouring West Bank has also faced a surge in violence over the past month. The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has served notice of industrial action on HSE West and North West.

Over 9,755 people, including 73 children, were treated on a trolley, chair or other inappropriate bed space in Irish hospitals in July according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

The Staff Panel of the ICTU Healthcare Unions met with the HSE on the 25^th of July 2024 regarding the Pay & Numbers Strategy which was announced on the 10^th of July 2024. 

Healthcare unions have written to the HSE today regarding the proposed Pay and Numbers Strategy announced by the HSE last week. The NJC Staff Panel of Trade Unions have expressed concern over the lack of consultation over the proposed strategy.
