INMO General Secretary Phil Ní Sheaghdha said:
It is clear that the Minister must now move to give HIQA statutory powers when it comes to the implementation of safe staffing. The INMO has been clear that the Safe Staffing Framework for Nurse Staffing must be underpinned by the Patient Safety (Licensing) Bill. As the Dáil term coms to an end, the Minister for Health must commit to ensuring this vital piece of legislation takes legislative priority.
