I refer to the purchase, just under two years ago, by the Organisation of the old Richmond Hospital which is next door to our current head office here in the Whitworth Building, North Brunswick Street, Dublin 7.
I now wish to confirm that the refurbishment works, on the Richmond Building, will commence shortly and will take a little under six months to complete. The refurbishment works are designed to provide the Organisation with an Education and Event Centre that will allow us to greatly expand the full range of professional, educational, industrial relations and other courses that we provide to members on an ongoing basis.
The new facility, which will have a mix of small/large lecture rooms, an auditorium, a skills room, IT hub and a café/restaurant will form an essential cornerstone of our services, for members, as we move towards mandatory competency assurance/CPD as required under the 2011 Nurses and Midwives Act.
It is now expected that the refurbished Richmond Building will be formally opened, in the first quarter of 2017, and every INMO member, coming to Dublin, will be more than welcome to drop in and avail of this facility.
Further updates will issue, in the coming weeks and months, as the refurbishment works continue and these will be covered on the website and also in future editions of the World of Irish Nursing and Midwifery journal.
Please bring this to the attention of all members in your workplace (photocopying if necessary).
