New era as Richmond Building to become new education and event centre
The Executive Council wishes to advise all members that the INMO has recently completed the purchase of the Richmond Hospital Building.
The Richmond, which is adjacent to our current head office in the Whitworth Building, will now act as the Organisation’s Education and Event Centre.
The new facility, which is an historic building within the fabric of Dublin City, will allow us to increase significantly our activities in the area of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), which will inevitably arise as the Nurses and Midwives Act 2011 is implemented.
The Richmond, which was completely refurbished by the Office of Public Works when it served as the Dublin District Court, is tailor made for the delivery of education programmes, and other events, subject to only minor internal reconfiguration. These minor changes will be the subject of a planning application, to Dublin City Council, and we hope that everything will be in place, to formally open our new Richmond Education and Event Centre, in the middle of 2014.
As many members will be aware the Richmond has a great, and outstanding, history with regard to the delivery of health services in our capital city. Indeed, as can be seen from the photographs, it is a landmark building in Dublin. Members are advised that further pictures of the Richmond can be seen on www.inmo.ie.

The purchase of the Richmond marks another significant development, for the Organisation, and, indeed, heralds a new era with regard to our work in the fields of Education and CPD.
It further confirms that the INMO has become, and will remain, the professional voice of nursing and midwifery, whether it be in the fields of industrial relations, education or professional development, long into the future.
We will keep all members advised of the preparatory work, with regard to the Richmond, and a formal opening date will be announced in due course. If members wish to visit the Richmond this can be arranged by contacting Head Office.
