As you are aware, the INMO recently negotiated changes to the PHN Transfer Panel Process to make it more efficient and effective. The proposal now must go to a ballot of all PHN members as all PHNs are eligible to apply for a transfer.
The main changes are that PHN will identify one geographical area of choice. Panellists will receive an expression of interest notification solely for the geographical area chosen. If a post become vacant in that geographical area, the post will be offered to the highest-ranking person on the geographical area panel. The new proposal is more efficient and effective and should speed up the process of PHNs securing a transfer. The INMO is urging members to vote in favour of accepting these changes to the transfer panel.
It is also built in to the revised transfer agreement that the release of transferees will be governed by Circular 001/2015 and in such circumstances, a transfer applicant should not be unduly frustrated if a suitable approved vacancy arises. An exercise will be conducted now to facilitate as many transfers as possible with the positions left vacant being backfilled by student allocation.
The ballot will run from the 15th of March 2018 to the 26th of March 2018. Please note that you should contact your local INMO PHN Representative, with regards to obtaining a ballot paper. Furthermore, members may ballot at INMO HQ, the INMO Galway Office, the INMO Limerick Office and the INMO Cork Office (during office hours).
Thank you for your attention to the foregoing and please vote in favour of the changes as this will ensure that the transfer panel works better for members.
