Injury at Work Update 2017 15.06.17

As previously noted in the Quarterly Industrial Relations Update published in April 2017, and following a claim by INMO and other Health Unions and with the assistance of the WRC, the Injury at Work Scheme is now corrected. Circular 013/2017, specifically addresses the application of the Injury Grant and its incorporation into the single scheme pension for new entrants, covered by that pension scheme.  The Injury at Work Grant will be incorporated into the single scheme pension for new entrants, covered by that pension scheme.  Also the HSE confirmed “in the case of employees who are deemed to be temporarily incapacitated, the calculation formula for the injury allowance will not provide for a degree of impairment rating and the full 5/6th allowance (subject to appropriate deductions) will be payable from the date of injury (subject to the employee meeting the eligibility criteria).” Please click here to view the circular plus attachments.

Should you require any further information regarding this, please contact our Information Office on 01 6640610/19.
