Application of the Injury at Work Grant in HSE and voluntary services.

UPDATE for INMO members

16th March 2017

INMO and other ICTU health service unions are delighted with the outcome of the Workplace Relations Commission this morning at which the HSE and Department of Health confirm that they will fully apply the injury grant to those temporarily incapacitated following injury at work.

Persons who are temporarily incapacitated following an injury at work, and are therefore out of work, will no longer be assessed for percentage disablement in relation to the calculation of the injury grant.

This has come about as a direct result of the INMOs challenge and appeal of the HSE process to the pensions ombudsman and INMO members who were incorrectly assessed should now contact the INMO for details, regarding reassessment of their case.

Further details will be forwarded to all members.
