A lunch-time protest will be held in Dublin on this Friday, March 9th   as follows:

VENUE:   Mater Hospital

TIME:   1.00p.m. – 2.00p.m.

The Irish Nurses Organisation and Psychiatric Nurses Association will be holding a lunch hour protest, outside the Eccles Street entrance of the Mater hospital on Friday next in the latest phase of their campaign of action.  This campaign seeks a 35 hour week, elimination of a pay anomaly and progress on other priority issues for over 40,000 nurses and midwives.

Hundreds of nurses and midwives, from across the capital and surrounding areas are expected to attend the protest which will be addressed by Liam Doran, INO General Secretary and Des Kavanagh, PNA General Secretary.  TD’s and Senators, representing constituencies in the greater Dublin area, have been invited to attend.

An announcement about the next phase of the campaign will be made at the protest following a meeting of the Strategy Committee on Friday morning.

This lunch-time protest will not affect services.
