Q. Can I get my Maternity Benefit paid if I go to a country outside the EU

If you are from an EU country, you can get Maternity Benefit for any period of your maternity leave spent in another EU country.

If you are not an EU citizen you will only get Maternity Benefit as long as you remain in the Republic of Ireland. 

You cannot receive payment when you are living outside the EU.
