No Carer's leave is unpaid. However, under the Carer's Benefit Scheme, employees who meet the eligibility requirements are entitled to a Carer's Benefit payable by the Department of Social, Community & Family Affairs.
While on Carer's leave, an employee is entitled to work for up to 18.5 hours per week.
