Staying strong together
Dear Colleagues,
I wish to begin by thanking all member for their strength and solidarity in executing the first three days of strike action. Also, I wish to commend your local representatives, Industrial Relations Officers and Strike Committees for the extraordinary work that they have done in recent weeks, to organise their workplaces.
Their hard work and dedication combined with your strength and unity has ensured the protection of patients and members while executing strike action.
The next phase of action involves a rally which will commence at 12.30 at the Garden of Remembrance Parnell Square, tomorrow, Saturday the 09th of February 2019. Support the National Rally, Saturday, 09th of February 2019, 12.30
Please click here to view the press release promoting the rally and we encourage you to attend with your friends and family.
Notwithstanding an invitation to the Labour Court, it is unlikely that there will be any immediate break through with regards to these matters. Therefore, we must focus our efforts on the rally and preparation for next week’s action.
We continue to engage with the HSE with regards to contingency planning around the upcoming strike days of the 12th, 13th and 14th of February 2019. Your Industrial Relations Officers and Local Strike Committees will liaise with you with regards to preparation.
Once again, thank you for your solidarity, unity and strength.
Yours sincerely,
Tony Fitzpatrick
Director of Industrial Relations
