Re: The process set out in the Chairman’s note of the Lansdowne Road Agreement and subsequent Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) talks regarding student nurse/midwife pay for 36 weeks and restoration of incremental credit for this period.

This process has been conducted and concluded within the timeframe set out i.e. 22nd December 2015. Proposals have been agreed between the parties which are positive in both areas of pay and incremental credit restoration.
The proposals have been negotiated with both the Department of Health and HSE officials and must now be issued, with a positive recommendation, to both the Department of Health and the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform for implementation. The timeframe for this to be concluded is the first week in January. Likewise the three trade unions involved will need to appraise their Executive Councils of the proposals.
Following completion of all of these steps full details of the proposals will be circulated to members in the first week of the New Year and a briefing meeting with student nurse/midwife members will be arranged.
