The INMO, as the largest professional union for nurses and midwives, represents circa 40,000 members in all disciplines and areas of the Irish health service.  

The Organisation provides a full range of services including industrial relations, continuing education and professional development, together with the most comprehensive dedicated library and research facilities in the country.

A vacancy has now arisen for a Director of Industrial Relations.

This challenging post will be based in our Dublin Head Office.  The post holder will be required to take a lead role, on many relevant IR/HR issues and to constantly demonstrate an awareness of IR/HR trends as they affect nursing/midwifery grades.  The post will be demanding and will require the post holder to demonstrate strong leadership, dynamism, communication and team work skills.

A nursing qualification is desirable, but not essential, and applicants should have excellent organisational, leadership, communication and team working skills.  Applicants should have a good working knowledge of the Irish health system.

A qualification in, or experience of, Industrial Relations / Human Resource Management is also desirable as is a commitment to the wider trade union movement.  

Salary Scale:  Programme Manager Grade - Health Service Executive.
