INO/PNA To Protest At The Launch Of Fianna Fail Election Candidates At The Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise. 11/04/07

PRESS RELEASE, Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

The Irish Nurses Organisation and the Psychiatric Nurses Association will stage a protest outside the Heritage Hotel in Portlaoise at 8.15pm on Thursday 12th April 2007.

This protest, at the launch of the Fianna Fail Candidates for the 2007 General Election, is a manifestation of the frustration and disappointment of nurses and midwives at their unfair treatment by this government.

The government, which consistently quotes that benchmarking is the only way to address nurses and midwives claims, conveniently ignores 14 other separate deals which have been done outside of the benchmarking process.

According to Joe Hoolan, INO Industrial Relations Officer: “Nurses and midwives will make their views known at this protest on Thursday evening.”
