The Irish Nurses & Midwives Organisation ensures that you, the nurse and the midwife, or student nurse of student midwife, will be protected throughout you employment in every respect, through ensuring that you have individual representation at a range of levels as required. Through your local Nurse Representative, Branch Officer, full time professional Industrial Relations Officer, or our professional development services, you have access to answers to any questions that might arise in relation to your professional practice, employment situation or legal obligations which may arise in the modern world of work.
In addition, through the Executive Council, General Secretary, Deputy General Secretary, Director of Industrial Relations and Director of Professional Development, your voice in developing and channelling nursing and midwifery policy and a nursing and midwifery response to all health issues, is assured, at all times. In short, you will receive both individual assistance to protect and guide you in your own situation, and an opportunity to be a leader and policy maker while carrying out the profession you have chosen in your own life. In joining the INMO you are exercising a constitutional right to protect yourself, and to join with your colleagues in strengthening the voice of the profession, and ensuring that recognition for our contribution is returned to you both in terms of pay, conditions, and professional standing in society.
